About Us

Making Conservation Knowledge Accessible to All

A media and community platform that translates complex conservation science and policy into clear, compelling stories for everyone.

Our Story

How We Began

The Conservation Compass was born from a simple observation: the most critical conversations about our planet were happening in spaces the general public couldn't access, academic journals, closed-door meetings, and specialist newsletters. We founded this platform to be a bridge. We are a compass, not pointing a single direction, but providing the clear, reliable information people need to find their own path to becoming stewards of the Earth.

Our Vision

A Sustainable Future

A world where knowledge empowers everyone to build a just and sustainable future.

Our Mission

Empowering Leaders

To empower a new generation of environmental leaders and advocates by producing and sharing trustworthy, accessible, and compelling narratives about conservation, climate, and community resilience.

We are a small, dedicated team of writers, editors, and conservation communicators, guided by a senior advisory board of scientists and practitioners. We are also committed to nurturing young communicators from the regions we cover through our Conservation Voices Fellowship.

Guiding Principles

Our Values

Clarity is Key

We believe complexity should never be a barrier to understanding.

Amplify Underserved Voices

We prioritize stories from local communities and frontline conservationists who are often unheard.

Rigor and Trust

Our reporting is fact-based and rooted in science, but told with a human heart.

Action-Oriented

Information is just the start. We always connect stories to ways our audience can learn more, get involved, and support solutions.
